Philharmonia Orchestra, Chichester Cathedral Review - Chichester Observer

Published Date 13 July 2011

Main Inset News Image Min-Jung Kym's performance of Beethoven's Piano concerto No 4 in G with the Philharmonia Orchestra was a rare opportunity for music lovers.

This was a young British concert virtuoso playing (perhaps) the least well-known of Beethoven's five piano concertos with one of the world's great orchestras.

Poised and confident, she thrilled her Chichester Cathedral audience with dazzling musicianship and expressive piano technique giving the music great depth of meaning and sound.

Min-Jung's winning combination of gentleness and lyricism coupled with boldness, and tenderness and grace coupled with vitality produced a simply spectacular performance meeting all the challenges of this demanding work.
